Chen Zanzhuo is a practitioner and educator of traditional Eastern movement with more than three decades of continuous study and teaching experience.

His work focuses on mobility, breath-led movement, fascia-informed movement principles, body awareness, and mindful movement practices designed to support modern lifestyles.

Raised in a family with deep roots in traditional martial arts, Chen began training at an early age. During his teenage years, he was specially recruited into Jimei University Sports College (formerly Fujian Sports Institute), where he received formal education in traditional martial arts and human movement training.

While studying there, he trained under Professor Gao Chulan, an internationally recognized martial arts educator, international Wushu judge, former Dean of Jimei University Sports College, and former President of the Fujian Wushu Association. This foundation provided him with systematic training in traditional movement systems, body mechanics, and movement education.

Over the course of more than thirty years of practice and teaching, Chen’s focus gradually evolved beyond traditional martial arts performance toward movement-based wellness education that better serves the needs of modern life.

Today, his teaching integrates traditional movement wisdom with contemporary movement principles, including:

  • Mobility and movement quality
  • Breath-led movement practices
  • Fascia-informed movement training
  • Postural awareness and body coordination
  • Balance and stability development
  • Traditional Eastern wellness exercises
  • Sustainable daily movement habits

Chen is a 6th-generation inheritor of the Natural Style (Ziranmen) tradition and a long-time practitioner and instructor of Yang-style Tai Chi.

His studies include training under Master Liu Deming, Honorary Chief Coach of the Songshan Shaolin Kung Fu Academy and Head of the Natural Style Kung Fu Academy, as well as Wei Qing, a representative of the Tian Zhaolin lineage of Yang-style Tai Chi.

He is also a member of the Chinese Wushu Association and the World Natural Martial Arts Union.

Throughout his career, Chen has participated in international martial arts exchange programs and has remained committed to exploring how traditional movement wisdom can be adapted to support wellbeing, movement awareness, and everyday life in the modern world.

Teaching Philosophy

“True practice should return to everyday life — allowing the body to move naturally, the breath to become steady, and the individual to remain balanced amidst the demands of modern living.”

At TaichiSifu, movement is not about performance.

It is about awareness.

It is about consistency.

It is about creating space to move, breathe, and live with greater ease.

Slow down.
Breathe deeply.
Move with ease.
